We’ll be out supporting the local artists again this First Friday, and shows at Krzyz Photo will resume this spring (wait it isn’t spring yet? the weather sure seems like it is!). You can bet that the the rest of the East Crossroads will be hopping. Keep looking for our upcoming shows, the schedule is still coming together for next year.

The Slap -n- Tickle Gallery will present 5th Annual Erotica show! First Friday, February 3rd, 2012 6-11pm Performances by Kiki Severe, Annie Thrax, and Zion. (Please be aware– this show is not for children or the easily offended). The Hilliard Gallery will be presenting an all small works show for its holiday open house on December 3rd. The work for this show will be all smaller works of art by the chosen group of artist. The gallery will show one of a kind works of art that make great and unique Holiday gifts. Artwork, including new and smaller works from Peter Cole, Burton Morris, John Marak, David Gross, Guinotte Wise, Lacey Lewis, Laura Simmons, Sue Adams, Mark Sandy, Teresa Magel, Jeff Dodge and others. Object d’Arte by Tammy Smith. Glass artwork by Garth Mudge, Glass eye studios, Jefferson Blair, and Bob Hanley. Jewelry by Freddie Wise, Blue Bus Studios, Suzayo glass, and others. Hand created Christmas Ornaments as well. The work will include sculpture, paintings, photography, glass artwork, ornaments, drawings,and jewelery. The Hilliard Gallery is The Hilliard Gallery is proud to present work of Pete Cole. Peter Cole will display his latest works that continue to explore the theme of amusement park rides, games, and their environments. Through his oil paintings, Peter draws on childhood memories and the rich visual nature of these places. In this show, Peter’s paintings attempt to express the boundless fun, uncomplicated joy, and brief distraction from the real world these places offer. The Hilliard Gallery will have a group assemblage show: The Fine Art of Recycling. Today, the genre encompasses everything from eco-friendly artwork to cheap recycled crafts or curious trash art. Few people however, are aware of just how amazingly creative this recycled art form can be at its very best. The show opens First Friday October 7th and Runs through the 31st of Oct. A new addition to the list for us is The Kendal King Group (1925 Central) The Kendal King Group is having a special First Fridays event entitled “Tis the Season of Color,” showcasing a watercolor exhibit by artist Don Gore. “I am first and foremost an admirer of art. I have great respect for anyone that works with their head, hands and heart to create. Watercolor paintings specifically speak to me in a unique and compelling manner.” The exhibit will be open during the hours of 5 to 8pm and Kendal King Group is located at 1925 Central.
